Bird Ecology

Please help me with this ecology ques….perhaps give me some hints? :]?
Among the highest energy transfer efficiencies known occur when reptiles consume warmblooded prey, such as birds of small animals. Explain in terms of characteristics of both prey and predator, why a high energy transfer efficiency would be expected for this particular step in the food chain?
Thanks!
Reptiles are incredibly energy efficient, since they do not need to metabolize their food to heat their body as they gain their heat from external sources. Because of this a reptile, after eating a large energy rich food source (like a warm blooded animal, with all that fat, protein and nutrients) can simply digest it for weeks, in some cases months or even (in the case of a reticulated python eating something like an antelope an entire year). We lose the majority of our energy powering our internal temperature, comparatively we are incredibly inefficient, it is the sacrifice made to live in such a wide range of environments and maintain high activity levels.
